How many of you have heard theses amazing words: Want to retire in 24 months? Earn $10,000 in your first month! Make $5,000 per week from home, part time!

Pretty catchy, right? But my guess is that every time you see an article or headline like that, your first thought is, SCAM! Well maybe. Maybe not. I personally don’t know because I’ve never watched a video, read an article or followed a link that had one of those headlines. I always thought, “Yeah right. If you can make $5,000 per week part time, everyone would be doing it.”

I have to tell you, that it really is possible to make really BIG money working from home. Here’s the catch. You have to work. If you sign up with a work at home company or an MLM of any type, you can definitely make money. The misconception is that people are making huge sums of money while doing nothing more than laying in bed watching TV. That’s just not the way it works. You will never get something for nothing. If you want to run your own home based business, absolutely go for it. But do not for a minute think that you will suddenly be driving a Denali with three Sweedish bikini models (or Chippendales, for the ladies) in it because you have a home based business. I heard one man say “I had to work harder for my first thousand dollars than I did for my next ten thousand dollars”. Why do you think he said that? Don’t waste too much time mulling that over, I’m going to give you the answer. MLM’s are all about generating residual income. That is where the “real” money comes from. So how do you get residual income? The first thing is that you have to build a team. No team, no income. That is where the hard work comes in to play. Remember, when you first get started in your company you are starting like any other new business, from the ground up. MLM’s do make it much easier with there built in support and replicated websites but that doesn’t mean that you don’t have to work. Can you work your new business part time? Yes. Can you make BIG money? Yes. But you have to build your team first and that takes work.

I said all that to say this. If you want to control your own future, plan to work. Plan to work hard. None of the leaders in your company became millionaires over night. You won’t either. But if you work and work hard, you do have the potential to make the BIG money that so many companies promise.
